One Stroke, Five Businesses
In 2017, Barry Bonner had a stroke. At the time he was twenty five years into a pharma and biotech career built around autoimmune disease and cancer, having also spent years working in particle accelerator technology after moving from the UK to the United States. The stroke did not end that career quietly. It redirected it entirely.
What followed was five years of research rather than retreat. Barry went looking for the biological system conventional medicine had almost entirely left out of its own training: the endocannabinoid system, identified by Dr Raphael Mechoulam in 1992 and expanded on since by researchers including Dr Ethan Russo. The ECS is a signalling network running through nearly every organ and tissue in the body, regulating mood, sleep, immune response, inflammation, digestion, and cellular repair. It is, in the most literal sense, the body's master regulatory system, and it is largely absent from medical school curricula.
Bonner Biotech LLC is the parent structure that grew out of that research. It is the legal and operational umbrella holding five distinct, purpose built entities, each targeting a different expression of the same underlying science: cannabinoid biology, microbial biology, and the systems that keep a body, or a soil, in balance.
Five Entities, One Parent
Bonner Biotech LLC is the parent entity and is never to be sold. It holds the clinical authority, the intellectual property, and the cross entity infrastructure that every operating business draws on. Two entities sit directly under Bonner Biotech LLC. Three others are independently structured, each with its own legal entity, brand voice, and market.
Reset ECS formulates topical broad spectrum phytocannabinoid products positioned as ECS activators rather than as a generic hemp brand. The two flagship products, Kaneh Bosm Oil and Beeswax Salve, combine a broad spectrum hemp distillate with black seed oil, jojoba oil, and frankincense, formulated to interact with CB1 and CB2 receptors and to support homeostasis across mood, sleep, stress, immune function, and skin vitality. Every formulation is no detectable THC and carries a full FDA disclaimer.
Manufacturing is compliant and a Texas DSHS licence is in progress. A clinician investor, Dr Shane Seeger, has already committed capital and equity. The near term growth path runs through a B2B clinical channel into chiropractic and integrative medicine practices, alongside a direct to consumer content engine built around education rather than hard selling.
Bonner Natural Health delivers structured, evidence based ECS education consultations. It works exclusively with clients, never patients, and makes no disease treatment, cure, or diagnosis claims. It is education, not medicine, built on a nurse led model with clinical oversight from a functional medicine physician.
Over six hundred people have already been supported through ECS based education and protocol guidance, more than one hundred of them completing a full structured protocol spanning phytocannabinoid activation, gut brain axis support, detoxification, nutrition, and spiritual focus. Every one of those relationships came through word of mouth. Not a single dollar has been spent on advertising. The current priority is formal infrastructure, a booking system, and a re engagement offer to the existing six hundred person base, work already underway.
RAD Microbes is a Texas based agricultural biotechnology company. Its microbial bioinoculants offer growers a living alternative to static chemical inputs such as fish oil. A living microbial consortium continues working in the soil day after day, enhancing nutrient cycling, improving soil structure, and building pathogen resistance, rather than delivering a single one off dose.
The company is running an active field trial with five industrial hemp growers in Louisiana, in partnership with the Houston Microbiology and Genomics Laboratory. RAD Microbes is targeting non dilutive grant capital through the USDA SBIR programme, approximately one hundred and seventy five thousand dollars, alongside a separate EPA Brownfields opportunity worth up to five hundred thousand dollars. A parallel golf course turf management channel is being developed under the RootGreen and FairwayBio names, and bioremediation proposals are in progress with international partners including Adler and Allan on the River Wye in the United Kingdom.
Sovereign ECS addresses a segment of women's health that broad spectrum topicals do not reach effectively: suppository based ECS support, formulated rectally rather than vaginally, delivering targeted ECS activation with a warm, empowering, trust led brand voice built specifically for women.
A pilot study is already underway, fifteen suppositories dosed one every other day across thirty days, with a structured insert and participant questionnaire in place. A Women's Wellness Box concept has been developed as the next commercial step once pilot data and the brand's independent legal position are finalised.
Abissan is a CBD isolate topical formulated for two specific and underserved markets: Halal certified consumers, and a CMS and Medicaid reimbursement pathway. Where Reset ECS is broad spectrum, Abissan is deliberately a pure isolate, chosen because a zero THC isolate carries the most straightforward possible Halal certification argument and the cleanest regulatory profile for a Medicaid pathway conversation.
Two thousand five hundred units have already been manufactured. The near term priority is confirming a Halal certification body, initiating the NDC registration required for any CMS pathway, and deploying existing inventory through the same chiropractic and integrative medicine channel already being built for Reset ECS.
One Science, Applied Five Ways
Every entity in this portfolio is built on the same underlying discipline: identify a living biological system that conventional approaches treat as static or ignore entirely, then formulate around it with evidence rather than hype. In the human body that system is the endocannabinoid system. In soil, it is the living microbial consortium. Reset ECS, Bonner Natural Health, Sovereign ECS, and Abissan each apply cannabinoid biology to a different population. RAD Microbes applies the equivalent living systems logic to agriculture.
This is not five unrelated ventures sharing a founder. It is one scientific thesis, tested across five markets, each carrying its own entity structure, its own brand voice, and its own compliance framework, while drawing on the same clinical authority, the same evidence based content library, and the same twenty five year pharma and biotech background behind all of it.
STEP 1: Cannabinoid Biology Applied To Four Human Facing Entities
Reset ECS, Bonner Natural Health, Sovereign ECS, and Abissan each formulate around the endocannabinoid system, differentiated by delivery format, audience, and regulatory pathway rather than by underlying science.
STEP 2: Microbial Biology Applied To Regenerative Agriculture
RAD Microbes takes the same living systems principle into soil health, replacing static chemical inputs with a working microbial consortium and validating it through structured field trial data.
STEP 3: One Clinical And Scientific Authority Behind All Five
Barry Bonner's pharma and biotech background, together with a growing clinical advisory board, gives every entity in the portfolio a credibility asset that a single, standalone start up would take years to build independently.
